Those representative of the free American Press that in the White House stand for their respective employers, which are everyday less and less thanks to Murdoch and others that pass like invisible mass, shielded under layers of ghostly families and corporations, employers I mean, have a poor way to demonstrate their freedom.

In the same fashion of their editors, anchors, commentators and expert’s colleagues, they all ask the same questions. All, at least looks like, uphold the same agenda and practice the same ingenuous attitude of talking like if the people listening really agree with their inquiry.

In the Monday 23 press conference the query got into a boring reciprocal of Iraq and government health insurance program. The only amenity was the grace and speaking ability of the president.

Do this people do not read letters to the editors, comments of regular people or watch YouTube?

When we have a president that take his function seriously, act like an elected functionary, that he is, and do not treat other nations like an appendix of the United States or like a colony of our, like until recently, many others did, you the questioner. should be at the high of the situation and to act accordingly.

Pass presidents always act and talk, not like the common American man and women talk, but with a vanity far removed from their own personal capacities and with measures and orders based not in our concepts of freedom, but in the strength of our fighting forces and our economical persuasions (apparently with not much knowledge of how we got both of them)

All this time the press, that is supposed to be the first line of defense for Freedom, Justice and Democracy were praising the elected ones like the presidents were a pontifical elected cardinal, with all the preparations and education that to be a cardinal entitle, and not what they really were, the big majority choice by wishes and desires, as changing and capricious as the fad for rock groups.

When we look at the changing in the press, since TV is relatively modern, after the multimillion enterprises discover that opinions can be molded with repetition and insistence, and the power of propaganda (drinks, cigarettes and movies been the better examples), corporations are been throwing money to the media, Not only in our daily life habits, since War World II this have been proved to be an easy way for enrichment, politic as well.

Nothing was more obvious and decadent, sometimes even embarrassing, than the Vietnam era, when we decided to give the coup of grace to a nation that for centuries was abused and weak due to the oppression of the French nation our eternal ally, and the gun backfired.

In those times, for years, the press ignore the fact that big brothers with their names on buildings, were trying to enrich their coffers, first at the expense of the blood of foreigners, and later with our own young and naïve kids. Immature movie goers inflated by the constant barrage of media advertising against communist China, now our friend, feel the necessity to defend against a fictitious enemy and to fight against a nation that more people do not even knew where the heck was situated in the map.

It took a lot of death and the American people on the streets, and the kids halting the volunteer rush (this did not stop the fathers of the country to force then to be heroes) for the press and all the media start publishing the real war and not the easy freedom fight the government, with your war correspondent help, want the people to belief were been fought.

There are more. When the war was over, not because the abilities of a Nixon or a Kissinger (LOL), but because the pressure exercised by everyone that awake from that lethargy that the TV and the comics had sunk us for years, the withdrawal of troops took only hours, not years as was planned before. That was proof that necessity is the mother of inventions. The press and TV stations refuse to bring to the public attention, since the courts look the other way too, the kingpins responsible for that debacle and the congress never investigate who and how much money was gained during that time, very convenient since the probabilities were in favor that they will have to punish themselves.

The history will keep repeating because every war mogul, every crook politician and every irresponsible general knows that we, in here the land of the free, same like in any other country that practice those abusive methods of enrichment, give them immunity from prosecution like we, also, do with common criminals that snitch in their partners or find an appropriate expiatory victim.

Many documentaries touch the facts of the Vietnam era, but I never saw one that name the partners of the South Vietnam’s dictators that were in collusion with American politicians, military and manufacturers. More yet.- like they, their families, even their friends and employees, got refuge in our land looking, not for freedom, freedom that they denied to their own people, but payment from favors and running away from punishment of crimes committed during their time in power. And what the American people got in return?… Apart from some good markets and convenience stores, they kept, at least for a while, fighting their enemies and making enemies for us. That happens in other places too, but this was first time in history that the press help with the solution. Maybe running away from Saigon was a good experience in the long run.

And like the Energizer bunny it will keep going and going until we can’t fight more, be destroyed or we put a halt to that. That is the change that America was looking for.

Why the media want Obama involved in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and every enemy of the Jewish State? … I don’t know but I am sure that we put our hands on the fire for England but the buck stop there. Or not?

The same press that was silent when the Congress approved a gift to the Cuban liberation fighters in the 1900s and the money was diverted to private enterprise, the American people found out when nobody care anymore. All those senators were already death when the thing show up for first time. That is becoming a pattern.

There are thousands of examples, too long for an article, to far away in history.-when Nicaragua was trying to get into the democratic path including everybody in the process of elections and president Reagan was making the opposite to democracy attempting to destabilize the country. And no only that, without permit of congress, selling part of armaments to nations that the government already considered as potential enemy; Iran. When the same president, with dictatorial attitude fire all Fly controllers that try to strike. The press took that like a joke. It was so funny, just like a clown. Except for the family of the affected ones. I guess.

The media was sporadically and allusive with the Khmer Rouge, with so many death that was nauseous. Why not to talk about that? … Easy, it was not convenient to admit that they knew about too many things tied to the control of that area. Like the illegal bombings of Cambodia, the selling of guns to the Khmer Rouge. There was even a movie "The Killing Fields", pretty good by the way, and it was so politically involved, though they try to do the political correct enmends, that have not been too popular with distributors. More or less like "The Salt of The Earth" or "A King in New York" or "Modern Times" or "Hiroshima mon amour" Hey we are free to censor, what we should also do is to say it.

The media also knew and never alert the American people about the intent of Richard Nixon in 1970 to avoid the election of Salvador Allende using as many dirty tricks as he can order to collect and when that failed, Allende was democratically and overwhelming elected by the Chilean people, our president went beyond the call of the duty. That election, not even remotely, affect the security of the United States, but nobody explain that situation to the American people. Many even considered "State Reasons" the patriotic silence of the media with relation to that interference with a friendly nation. This infatuate Nixon to the extreme of ordering the CIA to take, if necessary, the live of president Allende. He made the jump, a president of the exemplary nation of the world, from interference to terrorism. That action, cost hundredths of lives, Nixon help a military junta to assign the cruel Pinochet as leader of Chile. We all know what happens when we allow a man in charge to get away with murder. That is the preamble to Watergate. And open the eyes of many nations in the continent, unfortunately they also close the other eye to reason and temperance.

After Watergate things could look better, but it did not, nobody was punished, on the contrary, Nixon let a footman as president (Thanks God for elections!) that took care for letting "business as usual" in the White House. This help to keep American people in the quite stage but that also proof the world, the world that the media call our followers, that was not too much difference, in regard to respect. justice and peace, with the practices of any totalitarian or corrupted state.

The press and all the media always was, with rare exceptions, in the side of the presidents. The history is full of data in relation to what "free" the American press is, and what "slave" and "sold out" is in the rest of the world. What better view about the kind of media in the free world that let freedom just goes to waste while in the rest of the world hundreds of journalists are death or in prison for talking about the right of a person or entity and here where your opinion is allowed the journalists keep the truth in cage like old maidens. What a waste!

Now that we can not afford more enemies, enemies that had been accumulating thanks to the ambitions of the few, the stupidity of some and the disloyalty of others. The press start acting like the speakers of the people that put this nation backward with relation to Europe. The press not only did not fight against the indiscriminate export of American technology and know how, they disseminate it. Just because the advertising money was pouring into the news while that was happening.

The press never attack the abuses against the consumer. Any columnist that use a computer knows of the abuses in the Anti-Virus situation, knows about the scam known as " updating", knows about the lies and dirty actions of the merchandise on credit, knows about the rebate odds and what coupons are really intended for, how insurance companies figure out every way to make a buck and every single trick to avoid a penny in payment, knows how a program can change a false situation and make look like real, knows how many countries are in the world that have better protection to the consumer than ours and henceforth.

Even if in other countries they do not tell the truth about the abuse against the consumer, at least they, as far as I know, do not have "experts" telling things like to put your hard earned dollar in bonds, or to go to a trip to Las Vegas during hard times, or to collect every single coupon, or to take advantage of rebates, or to buy merchandise where you pay not interest for a year, or to take advantage of your neighbor during the economical crisis and to buy his house cheaper. What kind of people are all of you? … Better say, I know the kind of people that you are but I have friends that belongs to that group. Lucky bums!

All of the sudden, journalists and commentators are talking about " socialized medicine" , I know that you do not require a good education to be a commentator in TV or to be a well paid (even millions) journalist, as far as you look good, talk garbage, do not care about your country or other human been and keep your mouth shoot when something important pass by you and it can cost your job. Those are the rules. But please: Gimme a break! Do not bring stupidity into the equation. You know more countries use a very balanced system of taking care of the population. More poor countries use free medical without been socialist.

There are countries (write me and maybe I’ll tell you some) that use a hybrid system in which you pay for your doctor if you want and can, otherwise you have the right to take the one that society give it to you.

How good could be? That depends of many factors, I know doctors that are very expensive and can’t take care of a laceration. And hospitals with interns that make miracles everyday. That is not related to money.

The point of all this writing is that Barrack Obama is the president of the United States of America, is not the leader of the world, is not a prophet, a guru or a Czar, is just a human been with the experience, the knowledge and the stamina to be the leader of a great nation, do not ask for more, not for less.

If Obama say, and like more of us expect, without taking in consideration that some war moguls could make a fortune or not, he say we have to stay in Afghanistan or Iraq, I believe it, but I’ll keep in my toes to be sure he does not extend the time to the extreme of affecting all of my descendants. Like all the others, all your media heroes did in Korea, Germany, Kuwait, Cuba, etc, and all those places that we try to get cheap bananas from.

I, like more of us (non millionaires, workers, artists, retirees, professionals, housewives, students), think that Obama can and will find a way to get us out of this mess that ALL OTHERS have put the nation into, including how to find a way out of so many rich (Arabs) and poor (Palestinian) enemies, and mainly how to take care of the poor, the elderly, the veteran and the handicapped in general.

Please do your job and stop editorializing and asking stupid questions. If you want to know about Iraq, go there, and if possible stay for a while. I am sure life will keep his/her course.

Stop celebrating heroes, try to be one for a change.
