Answer to the Senator Hillary Clinton
With God's Help the next President of United
States

Dear
Senator... You know my answer, but I’ll repeat it because I want everybody to
see it. The “ talking heads “ , as you correctly refers to the plague of
experts, analysts, know-it-all and braggers that infect the air waves,
are a
sub-product of the charlatan that used to climb to the back of a wagon to
sell products. They make some advance,
with the advent of radio, to a more sophisticated and easy style of
distribution like radio talk shows. With TV, the same pretenders of yesteryear,
are taking refuge in Night talk shows and even the news, concealed between the
legitimate journalists and reporters that do their job with a minimum of
editorializing.
The talk-news shows,
that have taken preference in TV above other forms of entertainment, mainly
because they are economically more plausible , is just becoming epidemic. For
years they have been targets of my
commentaries for several reasons.- Top in my list is the right that they abuse: Advertising
of all kind masked as genuine information. Not in lesser amount misinformation
from our own government.
Freedom of
expression, and for extension freedom of the press is one of the more valuables
assets of democracy, is practically the fundament of the other liberties. Every
tyranny takes like first step to control the
mediums of public expression.
In the other
hand, when in a free nation the media belongs to a reduced group of individuals
or conglomerates, is unavoidable that this person or group use that power for
their own interest or benefit. I could write lines over lines of how that power
is been abused in a daily rudimentary way to the extreme, and how they are
gaining, not only in the economical, but also in the psychological, and not
always the best, aspect of the commonwealth.
The talking heads, or like many people
called, specially the ones from FOX News; Barbies, Kens, Blondes, Steppfords
wives, Clones, and so on, are no more and no less than the worst of talk shows
and tabloids been disseminated under false pretense of information formats.
One of the more
memorable debates that I remember ever watching in the Internet, but originated
in TV, was between a very capable and sharp entertainer, John Stewart, with one
of the many commentators of MSNBC, Tucker Carlson (even though I have to admit
MSNBC have only a couple of intelligent ones and Carlson happens to be one of
them).
To illustrate my
point; Stewart gave a classic
lecture on the function of the news as opposite to the entertainment part of a
TV station that is suppose to be informative. The segment was seen, for most
people, in YouTube, reaching, if I
remember, close to the million viewers. Disregarding the goodwill of the people,
the function of information, the advantage of free advertising toward both, the
Carlson show and the John Stewart’s show, it was retired from YouTube.
Many people blame Stewart or Tucker for that incomprehensible action. The
truth been that it was ordered out of commission by VIACOM International.
VIACOM, between others
media stuff, also own Simon &
Schuster Publishing.
All this
companies that own the media in the free world operate in a way that result
suspicious. They buy and sell their subsidiaries continuously, what make it impossible for anybody,
including the government, to make them accountable for specific programs or
editorialists position. Sufficient to take a rule of thumb approach toward our
qualms is to see how many lawyers with holding interest in corporations are in
their editorial boards. Why
lawyers?... well.- do you ever hear about the lawyer in heaven?... there are not
such thing.
The last one is a
joke with foundation, but is not less true that there are very good crusaders
that happens to be lawyers. I belief that is your case, Mss. Clinton..
If you
look with a magnifier, lots of patience and a good heart you will find one or
more Wolfs, Amampours, Matthews, Olbermanns, Maddows commentators that look they
are taking the profession very serious, also some
qualified and fairs anchor people like Tony Harris. Actually
the best qualified anchors and commentators we find it in CNN, a place
where happens we
also find some of the worst.
The more abusive,
indiscreet ones and barbaric are harbor in FOX, sorry to say many of them
females. The ones that people more despise, mainly because they betrayed the public confidence, always find refuge (and probably
money that has been washed in some way) in MSNBC.
So Senator, that
is my answer, is not the press, really, is the powerful part of the media that
is out to get you. Not that they care about Obama, if Senator Barrack Obama get
his picture in some bills, then this people will defend him. They only care
about their humongous salaries, payment that goes a lot above their capabilities
and above the fixed points of their fixed ratings.
They are, also, rendering the American people like
themselves, liars, corrupts, racists
and sexists If you notice the kind of programming that the
networks are sending abroad you will know that they are portraying us like
animals, perverts, insensitive and criminals.
.Presidents can do
a lot for their constituencies, is not always bills and vetoes.
If something, out of the
classical responsibilities of the position, that you can do like
a president about that, in the democratic way, is to show us like to get
back at them, the powerful and expensive megaphone that in no way represent the
will of the people, only the will of the moguls. Show us how to ignore their stupid remarks and
boycott the products that
sustain their horrible means. If Ronald Reagan smashed the right of the workers to be absent from work like a leveling for claiming
privileges, I guess a real democratic president can show his/her people like to
use the power of majority to make that the American Dream be a little more
American and a little less than a dream.
This powerful
media people went to far trying to destroy peoples
decent icons, like you Madam Senator. They are going beyond political maneuvers,
which is their right, to dirty tricks that is not. Do not listen to them, listen
to the average citizen that is behind you in your endeavors. The
press is a good symbol of freedom, but we are the people, we are the force, without us the
nation or the freedom itself just do not exist. God bless America and show us like to make a right
choice for the better.
